Whether you’re climbing, spinning, or flowing across the floor, the right polewear makes all the difference. As a designer and a pole dancer, I’ve spent countless hours obsessing over fabrics, cuts, and strap placements — all to help you feel held, seen, and stunning on the pole.
So… what actually makes good polewear? Here’s my honest, pole-tested designer checklist — so next time you shop, you’ll know what’s worth it.
1. Grip-Ready Design
Your outfit should support your movement — not limit it. Exposed skin helps you grip the pole, but not all skin exposure is created equal.
Must-haves:
- Arms – including your elbow and armpit — critical for climbing, spinning, and static tricks.
- Legs – your shin, thigh, and honestly, pretty much everything up to your hip crease gets involved. You need grip for climbs, hangs, and floor-to-pole transitions.
Optional (but nice to have):
- Side Torso – useful for moves like Jade Split, or when you’re working on a secure invert and still building strength as a baby poler.
-
Shoulders – great for shoulder mounts or advanced spins, but not necessary unless you’re working those specific tricks.
2. Secure Fit (Because We Don’t Want a Show)
Let’s be real — we don’t want anyone falling out mid-invert. When buying polewear, always ask:
“Would this still cover me upside down?”
Triangle tops are so cute… but let’s face it — many of them don’t cover your boobs once gravity does its thing.
And don’t forget the bottom half. We spread our legs a lot (literally).
Make sure your crotch has wide enough coverage to stay put during moves like Hello Boys or Jade Splits. It’s called polewear, not peek-a-boo-wear.
3. Support Without Digging
We’ve all tried using bikinis as polewear… and quickly learned our lesson.
Why most bikinis fail:
- They shift. Constantly.
- Wired bras dig into your skin (and don’t actually support upside-down movement)
- Most bikini bottoms don’t have elastic around the thighs — meaning awkward gaps between your butt and your bottoms. Not the look we’re going for.
Sports bras, on the other hand, are supportive — but rarely cute enough for the pole vibe.
Good polewear gives you real support without sacrificing style. Soft under-bust bands, adjustable straps, and high-stretch bottoms that stay close — that’s the sweet spot.
4. Fabric That Treats You Right
You’ll spend hours sweating, spinning, and stretching in this. Your body deserves better than stiff fabric or itchy seams.
Choose:
- Soft, high-stretch fabric that moves with your bod
- Moisture-wicking + breathable materials — another reason why bikinis fail us. They’re designed to repel water, which means they trap sweat instead of letting your skin breathe. Total no-go for pole.
- A finish that feels buttery, not crunchy or plasticky
And for sustainability?
Look for high-performance, durable fabrics — not flimsy, disposable ones that fall apart after two washes. You deserve more than fast fashion.
5. Ethically Made & Intentionally Designed
The best polewear doesn’t come from a production line.
It comes from real dancers who understand what movement feels like — and what support really means.
Zerone Polewear is:
- Thoughtfully designed by pole dancers for pole dancers
- Designed in USA; made in small batches using only premium and functional fabric, so you’re not just wearing a product — you’re wearing something rare, made with care

✨ Final Thoughts
Good polewear doesn’t just look good —
It moves with you, makes you feel secure, and lets you focus on your movement (not adjusting your bottoms every 3 seconds).
It helps you feel confident, beautiful, and loved — and that’s exactly what we make at Zerone.
Small-batch premium polewear, thoughtfully crafted with purpose, softness, and a whole lot of heart.
